28 yr old woman uses fake baby bump to smuggle 2 kilos of cocaine

According reports by AFP, a Toronto woman who used a fake baby bump to try to smuggle two kilograms of cocaine was arrested yesterday September 11th at Bogota airport by Colombian police.

28-year-old Tabitha Leah Ritchie, identified as a social worker, was stopped while trying to board an Air Canada flight in Bogota, Colombia after an inspector noticed that her belly was unusually cold and hard. Airport security discovered a false belly made of latex taped to her body and they found 2 kilograms of cocaine. Record shows that Ms Richie arrived in Colombia on Aug. 6.

Pres. Jonathan appoints interim ministers to replace the nine sacked

President Jonathan didn't particularly give reasonsfor the mass sack that happened today but there are speculations in some quarters that it was politically motivated. Shhhhh, you didn't read this here but I heard that the nine ministers sacked today were nominated by the Governors that defected to the new PDP aka Atiku's PDP. I guess the old PDP wan show say power pass power. Lol. Nigerian politicians. Anyway, see below the serving ministers deployed to oversee the activities of the ministries which lost their ministers today.

Its ‘Old Skool’, Eviction Time At Maltina Dance All Season Seven

The number one family dance TV show in Nigeria, Maltina Dance All is taking dancing to another level this season. After the first dance performance where families showed different dance styles from the 60s-70s, they have taken it a notch higher with dance styles from the 80s-90s. The families thus performed different and popular songs from the 80s and 90s. Continue...

The show opened with the Ibrahim family who choreographed to the 1980s song, Felicidad by Boney M; they were followed by the Ikumoinien family who performed the 1981 song, She’s a bad Mamma Jamma by Carl Carlton; Clement family danced to the 1982 song, A Night to Remember by Shalamar; Asiyefia family to the 1983 song, Beat It by Michael Jackson. The Ebute family showed what it means to be a Part Time Lover by dancing to Stevie Wonder 1985 hit song.  The Enweribe family danced to the 1990 song, Ice Ice Baby by Vanila Ice; Ebenezer family to the 1990 song, Poison by Bel Biv Devoe; Dosa family to the 1992 song, It’s My Life by Dr Alban; Briggs family to the 1994 song, Hot Stepper by Ini Kamoze while the Ekado performed the 1998 song, Too Legit by MC Hammer.

 

With the families captivating and stunning moves, the judges had a difficult time picking any family to join the Clement and Dosa families already up for possible eviction from the 60s-70s dance performance. However, the Asiyefia and Ebute families were put up for possible eviction.

Meanwhile, at the end of the first eviction showdown, the Dosa and Clement families were evicted from the Maltina Dance All Academy. The judges were not convinced that they had what it takes to continue the evolution journey to the grand finale. The Asiyefia and Ebute families were however strictly warned to further brush up their choreography moves and styles to avoid being put up for possible eviction again.

The Dosa and Clement families were crushed that their dreams were brought to an end so early in the competition. They were however grateful to Maltina for the experience and promised to continue their dreams of dancing.

Mrs Ngozi Nkwoji, Senior Brand Manager, Maltina said the show is all about the emotions, excitement, fun and the unbreakable bond that the families will showcase throughout the Academy. She added that this year, Maltina is doing something different by taking Nigerians back to songs and dance styles from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and to this present age. “The idea is to show Nigerians that dance has come a long way and is very much appreciated in the Academy. The evolution will take Nigerians through time to songs most of our young people have probably not heard and most of our parents will nod their heads to while reminiscing on those good old days”.

The winning family will go home with the grand prize of a whooping sum of N6 million and of course, a brand new car. The first and second runners up will also get N1 million and N500, 000 respectively. The show will bring to the fore, the Nigerian people’s essence and values of sharing, happiness unity, cooperation, vitality and creativity.

Lawyer and activist Mike Ozekhome regains freedom

Almost three weeks after he was kidnapped, human rights lawyer & activist Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has reportedly been freed. He was freed at about 8am this morning by his kidnappers in Benin. Mr Ozekhome is said to be in the office of the State Security Service in Benin as of this morning.

Teenage stowaway gets scholarship from Edo State Governor

I'm sure by now you all know who Daniel Oikhena is. (Refresh your memory HERE). Daniel and the the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, George Uriesi (pictured right) paid a courtesy visit to Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole yesterday Wednesday Sept. 11th.

Governor Oshiomhole said the government will support Daniel by sending him to one of the top schools in the state. He said:

“Without meaning to encourage anyone else, we decided to support him by sending him to one of the top secondary schools in Edo State that is owned by the Government. The reason for opting for a boarding school is that we think that there is need to closely watch him which his parents could not do. He is an intelligent young man with uncommon challenges, but one that has a vision. We had him examined by people who should know and the result confirmed that he is normal"

2013 World Happiness Report: Nigeria Is The 5th Africa's Happiest Country

The happiest people in the world apparently reside in northern Europe, according to a 156-nation survey published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden are the world's happiest countries while Rwanda, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Benin and Togo -- all nations in Sub-Saharan Africa -- are the least satisfied with their lives, the report said.

On the list of Africa's Happiest Countries, Angola came first which was followed by Mauritius, Algeria and Libya. While our dear country Nigeria came 5th place.

It was gathered that thousands of people were quizzed with questions such as:

“Did you feel well-rested yesterday? Were you treated with respect all day yesterday? Did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday? Did you learn or do something interesting yesterday?”

Governor Of Nairobi Gives Female Protester A 'Dirty Slap' Before The Camera

Evans Kidero, the Governor of Nairobi, had just finished meeting with President, Goodluck Jonathan who signed several bilateral agreements with Kenya's president, Uhuru Kenyatta when he assaulted a female representative of their workers union.

According to reports, the woman, Rachael Shebesh was at the forefront of a protest by Nairobi City County workers who were demanding for better pay. 

Shebesh had joined a group of striking workers at the antechamber of the governor's office when he opened the door of his office and gave her a dirty slap...just like that.

Meanwhile Governor Evans has apologised to Shebesh:

"Shebesh and her goons attacked me. It was an unfortunate reaction by me. I am sorry about this ugly incident and I apologise to Shebesh," Kidero told the Star.

Kanye West finally fires back at Ray J

It took Kanye five months to respond to Ray J. Five whole months, Kanye! What's happening to you? Lol. Five months after Ray J famously released a single called 'I Hit It First' that was aimed at Kanye West and K, Kany has fired back!

In a performance of his single Bound 2 on Jimmy Fallon last night Kanye West changed the first line of the song and sang, 

"Brandy little sister lame and he know it now. When a real brother hold you down, you ‘sposed to drown"
