Police Arrest 12 Undergraduates, Housewife For Cultism

The police in Ekiti State have arrested 12 students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado  Ekiti, and a housewife at a drinking joint, where they were  allegedly holding a secret cult meeting.
The Area Commander, Ado Ekiti Area Command, Mr. Yomi Akinlaja, who briefed journalists on Wednesday  on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sotonye Wakama, said the housewife, who is the  operator of the joint, was also arrested for aiding the cultists.He added that the cultists were students at the satellite campus of the polytechnic.
The police boss stated that two of the members of the group had been accused of robbing a man, Mr. Sina Oluwadare. According to him, the suspects dropped a note with symbols of a secret cult group.He said the two suspects burgled the house and threatened Oluwadare.
He said, “Our informant alerted us that members of Eye Confraternity were meeting somewhere. We sent our men there and we arrested 12 male suspects and a female suspect.”Some of the items recovered from them in include,  knifes, Indian hemp, bunches of keys, apparatus for pregnancy test, charms, red beret and mufflers.”The female trader, in an interview with journalists, denied being a member of a cult group.
The woman, who was in tears, said the students bought two sachets of Regal gin worth N300 from her.She stated that she did not even know that the boys were doing anything illegal until she was arrested alongside with them.
